At Blanco Eye
Associates,
We Make Eye Exams
For Kids Fun!!
We are equipped and trained to do comprehensive eye
examinations on infants as well as preschoolers;
most
children find their first eye exam an
enjoyable experience.
The American Public Health Association
has adopted a resolution that recognizes the
shortcomings of vision screenings, encourages eye
examinations at the ages of 6 months, 2 years, and 4
years and urges pediatricians to recommend that all
children receive eye examinations at these intervals.
These evaluations may involve the use of eye drops that
enlarge the pupil, which are very safe.
Typically we recommend morning
examinations when the child is well rested, however we
do offer evening and Saturday hours. For infants and
children 3 and under, try to have all paperwork
including insurance forms and medical/ocular history
forms are completed in advance to reduce waiting time.
When bringing an infant for an evaluation, we ask you to
bring a bottle.
For preschool examinations it's helpful
for some children to bring their favorite stuffed animal
or some other favorite toy.
Our reception area had numerous toys for
our little patients to keep them busy if there is a
wait.
We look forward to seeing you and don't
hesitate to call us in advance if you have any
questions.
We
really do love kids! |
